Image Issues

The images that you uploaded, how did you change the color?—★Pika3323 15:04, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

Immewnity (the site owner) doesn't like (actually he hates) images that aren't official (therefore what you did isn't official), also if I ask you a question on your talk page, answer it there.—★Pika3323 15:23, 13 April 2011 (EDT)
Let me clarify what Pika3323 is saying. The versions that are uploaded to Bulbapedia were tinkered with color-wise to make them look similar to the actual coloring. As you are well aware using Paint.NET (which, by the way, I adore Paint.NET), the more an image is changed, the harder it is to change back if something goes wrong. Thus, we're trying to keep original coloring as much as possible.

I do know where the originals can be found with correct colors, even at a higher resolution, but sadly we do not have access to Nintendo Europe's press site. Only Nintendo America, Nintendo UK, and Nintendo France. (NoE's is Germany, Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands, IIRC)

P.S. You can reply to comments however you like. IMO, discussions should stay on the user's talk page, but if a response is given to someone who would not get the automatic notice, writing on their talk page is appreciated.--immewnitythemew 22:43, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

Why Accelgor's artwork was reverted

Hi!

Thanks for joining PidgiWiki and helping out around here; we always can use a few extra hands, especially considering the state of the server right now.

However, I would like to remind you of a few things. First, here at PidgiWiki, we try to keep images as close to the original source as possible, so the only edits to images we should ever make are to change a CMYK color scheme to RGB. This means not to remove backgrounds or add transparency, as you did with Accelgor's Sugimori artwork. Also, the file that was originally uploaded was a JPG file, and you uploaded a PNG over it. While in most cases PNG files are preferrable, the original file was a JPG, and thus should stay that way. If a PNG file must be uploaded, upload it to a name on the server that reflects that, i.e. File:Accelgor - Ken Sugimori.png instead of .jpg.

Thanks for helping!--immewnitythemew 11:53, 16 April 2011 (EDT)

Lesson 1:Do not alter images like that.
Lesson 2:Do not remove BG.
That's it for now...—★Pika3323 12:15, 16 April 2011 (EDT)
And if Pika3323 read that, he'd know that I mentioned both of those. :D--immewnitythemew 12:42, 16 April 2011 (EDT)
Of course I did, but your explenations are SO long, so I kinda shortened them.—★Pika3323 12:55, 16 April 2011 (EDT)
Okay. I didn't get that vibe from your post, so... I'll do a quick sum up: leave existing images as they are; only upload better images from another source.--immewnitythemew 13:02, 16 April 2011 (EDT)
